Need to apply for z visa

Hello I already have business visa M for 6 month multiple entry . Now am thinking for applying z so I need to exit china and need to apply or doesn’t matter staying in china and applying for z process.

It's possible to change the M into Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. You can have a try.
