About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Canadian traveling to Thailand via Shanghai

Hey there, I am a Canadian passport holder traveling from Canada to Shanghai, staying in Shanghai for 2 nights before moving on to Thailand. Confirming here that we'll be able to take advantage of the 72-hour free transit and not have to apply for anything beforehand. In this case, do airport officials just need confirmation upon arrival of your flight out of China within 72 hours? Is there any special steps to take once we arrive in the Pudong airport?

Thanks!
