About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hong Kong-Shanghai-London

We are UK Citizens and will be flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai via Cathay Pacific. We will stay in Shanghai for no more than 48 hours and will then fly from Shanghai to London Heathrow. What do we need to do to utilise 72 hour free transit?

You don't need a transit visa for your stay in Shanghai, you're eligible for the 144h twov.

If your return flight to London is also on Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong then you need a visa, of course.
