About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arrival from Hong Kong under 72 hour visa free transit

I'm a British Passport holder and will arrive into Shanghai on a flight from Hong Kong, I will only be staying in Shanghai and will be leaving within 50 hours on a flight to Dubai. Both the inbound and outbound flights are on a separate booking. My understanding is that I will qualify for a 72 hour free transit; but I'm not sure about how Hong is treated as an SAR, would this be regarded as arrival from a third country, which is one of the requirements for the free transit?
