Am I qualify for 144 hrs China visa exempt?

I am going from Canada to Shanghai for 3 days, then join a cruise to Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Manila and last to Hong Kong. Do I qualify for the 144 hrs visa exempt rule? Will the airport staff let me check in without any documents from China visa center?
