About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 stops in china. I am flying to Thailand from the US.

On the way in, we have one stop at Wuhan with a 4 hour layover.
On the way back, we have 2 stops - one at Guangzhou Baiyun with a 6 hour layover and then to Wuhan with a 2 hour layover.
Am I correct to think that I don't need a visa but can get a 24 free stamp at the airport if I would like to exit the airport during my 6 hour layover?
If I don't leave the airport at all during my layovers, do I need to do anything at all?

Its eligible for two separate transits. One to Thailand and one on the way back from Thailand. Just know that 6 hours is no guarantee you will be able to leave the airport as its up to immigration. That is a short enough stop they may require you to stay at the airport.
