About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I have to go to a third country, or I can go back to the country I just came from?

I am an American; can i fly from Hanoi to Guangzhou, then Guangzhou back to Hanoi and enjoy the 72 hour free travel?

Of course not. It's visa-free transit, not visa-free visit.
