About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I don't have an 'official' transit

I'm flying into Beijing and i arrive at 8.15am on the 21st April 2018 and i will be leaving on a new flight on the 22nd April at 12.50pm - Would this be considered a transit?

I then fly back to Beijing on the 1st May and will arrive at 5pm and then fly the next day at 7.30am - (this is an actual transit) can I use a transit g again?

Will this still be the case on the first trip where i am not 'officially' transiting? I have a direct flight to Beijing and then will stay there for 1 night and then a new direct flight to Tokyo the next day.

Yes it's no problem.

As for the immigration you're in transit.
