About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Traveling from the US to Hong Kong on China Airlines with a couple hour layover in Taipei, Taiwan.

Do we need a transit visa or is this covered under the 24 hr exemption?

If you only transit in Taipei, you don't need a visa then.
