luggage in transit in chengdu airport

Question

I arrive in Shuangliu Airport from Paris at 05.50 in the morning. I am in transit for 8 hours and half. My next flight is to Bangkok the same day at 2.20PM. I want to go and see the Panda at the Panda Breeding Centre.Do the luggage go through to Bangkok or do I have to take them with me?Where can I let them if I have to claim them at Shuangliu airport and keep them with me (I don't want to go to the Breeding Centre with my luggage) ?Many thanks.
