About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

Violation of 10 days rule of transferring the visa to the new passport.

What should I do if I missed the 10 days rule of transferring my entry permit to my new passport? I told my school as soon as I had my new passport. But I was told to wait. Now I have a problem with the psb. They said I need to pay for the penalty since 10 days grace period is over.

If you were told so by the officer, you are advised to pay the fine and ask what you can do after that. The fine would be CNY500 per day; but the capped amount won’t exceed CNY10,000.
