Tourist Visa Application by Mail

Hello!
I'm an American citizen teaching in South Korea and would like to visit China during one of our breaks. I can't get to the embassy in Seoul though during open hours and heard that that I can't send in the application by mail. Is that true? If so what is the best way to apply for entry permit if I can't get to the embassy during work hours.
Thanks!

As I know, you can submit the application to the CVASC in Seoul by post. If you doubt that, you can call the visa office to confirm that before you do that.
