How to renew a China passport for my wife in Hawaii who has permanent US residence status?

Does she need to travel to Los Angelas CA China Consultant office?

Hi, first, make an online appointment for the application.
Prepare her passport and its copy, a completed application form, and 4 passport-style photos, Chinese ID card, residence permit in the US, an introduction letter as well as other documents the consular officers consider necessary, and then submit the application to the consulate in Los Angeles.

Thanks for the information. My wife completed the application to book an appointment. The calendar for the Los Angeles CA China Consultant does not permit her to enter an appointment for week of 3/16/19. How early in advance may she booked date?

Usually, one is advised to apply one month prior to the trip. So she can try to do that in Feb.
