About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London - Hong Kong - Shanghai - London.

If I have a direct flight from London to Hong Kong stay there for 3 days then fly on to Shanghai and stay there for less than 144 hours and have a direct flight back to London from Shanghai - can I enter Shanghai on a transit visa?

There's no need for a transit visa, you're eligible for the 144h twov.
