I will be stopping in Shanghai for 3 days on route to Hong Kong, I have friends in Shanghai, can I stay with them with the 144 hour twov or is a hotel booking required?Thank You

You don't need a hotel booking but need to provide your friend's address and contact information when clearing immigration. After arrival you must go with your friend to the nearest police station to register within 24 hours (both of you must also bring IDs). Failure to comply will result in a two-year ban from using TWOV.
