LAX - Shanghai - Manilla - Hong Kong - Shanghai - LAX

Hello!

I have two questions:

1) Will I be able to use the 144 hours in Shanghai en route to Manilla / HK and will I have to reapply when travelling back through to return to USA?

2) Is it possible to travel to Xi'an or Beijing (by training) when landing in Shanghai?
