About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Flying from UK

Hi, I am a British Passport Holder travelling to Japan Via China from London (LHR)
I will arrive on the 05th of April 2019 at 15:50 in Shanghai (PVG) - Flying with China Eastern Airlines
My departure to Japan (NRT) from (PVG) is on 07th of April at 17:05 - Flying with All Nippon Airways
I will fly back from NRT to PVG on 17th April and will land in PVG at 11:50 - Flying with All Nippon Airways
My departure to LHR is on the 19th of April from PVG at 13:20 - Flying with China Eastern Airlines.

So basically i will have two transits. Will this be a problem?
And how many hours can i stay in PVG on free transit?

If your travel route would be UK-Shanghai-Japan, and Japan-Shanghai-UK, you can get two 144h free transit in Shanghai. No visa will be needed.
