About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Thai traveler

My friend and I are Thais and we will book flight from BKK to Japan via PVG Airport with transit period 2.45-hour. Do we need to apply for regular entry permit? or we can get 24-Hour Free Transit at PVG airport.
