About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 stops in China? Or does it have to all be done within 144 hours?

I want to fly into PVG, stay a couple of days, fly to Vietnam for 5, then fly back through Shanghai to US. Will each time I stop in China start the 144 rule?

As long as Shanghai is the only city in China your flights will land in you can do one transit in each direction, you just cant do 2 stops in a single direction

The following is allowed. If you have other landings not listed below the answer may change
USA > Shanghai (up to 144 hours) > Vietnam
Vietnam > Shanghai (another 144 hours) > USA
