Dallas - Shanghai - Seoul - Dallas

I'm a US citizen flying on American Airlines from the US to Shanghai, spending 6 nights there (less than 144 hrs), then flying to Seoul from Shanghai on Asiana Airlines, where I'll connect to an American Airlines flight back to the US. Am I eligible for the 144-hr Free transit? I'll have a confirmed ticket Asiana ticket from Shanghai to Seoul to show immigration upon arrival in Shanghai.
