New fingerprint rules for UK

Hi there
I have a UK passport and am interested in using the 144 twov route but a new reciprocal fingerprinting rule has been introduced for UK passport holders.
Is this still a valid entry permit route with this in mind and would you still have to go to the visa centres to get fingerprinting done before using the entry permit or is this route for UK passports no longer valid?
thanks
