Where can I purchase the Shanghai souvenir card?

As I know, this kind of transportation card is available at more metro stations in the city. :)

Although this may be a late response, I hope it will help many others who will be landing in Shanghai. Immediately as you come out of airport terminal to metro station entrance (where security screening to enter metro happens on your left), you will see to your right, about 40 metres away, the maglev express train ticket counter. ( ask for maglev ticket counter, most people will know it) You can purchase electronic metro cards (Shanghai transport card) with a 20 yuan refundable deposit plus a another 20 or so usable prepaid value. This can be used in trains, buses, ferries too. This is a worthy investment as you will be avoiding lot of hassle, and time afterwards with this card. Card can be toppedup in key railway stations. I spent about 30 yuan during 4 days in Shanghai from and to airport plus 4 or 5 journeys within shanghai. I found that this is the most convenient place to buy the card ( and also to return and get the refund on your way back), one specific reason being you cannot find someone who can diretect you to an alternative transport card counter unless you speak Chinese.
