From Europe to Changchun via PEK or PVG

Hello!
I need to go for a business meeting in Changchun (from Europe), and I would be flying first in PVG or PEK airport and then take a domestic flight to Changchun. Then I would fly back from Changchun to PEK or PVG and from there back to Europe.
The overall stay will be less than 5 days.
Can I still apply for the 144-hr free transit?
Or because I am taking a domestic flight I cannot do it and I need a regular visa?
Do I have an alternative?
