About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible for the 144 hour free transit when embarking on a cruise?

Hi, I am flying from the Uk to Shanghai then embarking on a cruise the same day which first ports in Japan 2 days later. I do not return to China at any point after that. Will I qualify for the 144 hour free transit please?

As long as Shanghai is the only Chinese city your plane lands in then this is eligible for the transit without visa.
