I have a Nigerian passport. Do I need to get a transit visa for a 15hour layover stay?
I am a resident in the United States. (Green Card holder) I still have a Nigerian passport. my wife is an American citizen. we are both traveling from the US to Thailand and vacation. we have one stop in Beijing (15hr layover) we would love to use this time to go and see the great wall at least. I know my wife can probably be allowed transit but what about me with a Nigerian passport? I tried to apply for a transit visa at the Chinese embassy in New York but they told me that they do not issue transit or individual tourist Ls. They gave me a number to call in China. apparently this is the immigration people in Beijing. I have called them but they said they do not speak english and therefore cannot understand what I'm saying. so I don't know what to do. any help would be appreciated.
