LON-HKG-SHA-LON qualifies for 144 hours transit without visa, if your passport is from one of the 53 listed countries and if those are your only stops. Note that LON-HKG-SHA-HKG-LON requires a visa.

Hello there, Jackie, I was wondering if your flight is directly from London to Shanghai? I am planning to go to Guangzhou from Amsterdam (has to be through HongKong) and then within 72 hours back to HongKong and then back to Amsterdam.

Flight 1 Amsterdam to Guangzhou (stopover of 1 hour in Hong Kong) 2-11'18
Flight 2 Guangzhou to HongKong 5-11'18
Flight 3 HongKong to Amsterdam direct 11-11'18.

That is not transiting in Guangzhou but in Hong Kong so you need a visa.
