8 hours lay over in Shanghai

Hi, I have a Philippine Passport but I am a resident of Canada.
I am traveling from Manila to Shanghai (8 hours layover in Pu Dong Airport), then Shanghai to Vancouver.
I don't have plans to get out of the airport.
Do I still need a VISA?
Thanks for the answer.
