About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Multiple Entry, Visa Required?

Hello
I’m doing; London-Shanghai Staying 2 days in Shanghai then Shanghai - Hong Kong for 9 days then Hong Kong - Shanghai with an overnight in Shanghai before Shanghai - London. (UK National)
Do I need entry permit as I’m entering China twice?

You don't need a visa as you can avail of the free transit in Shanghai in both ways. Nice trip.
