About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I wonder if the trip: Taipei - Hefei - Hong Kongh is acceptable for the 144-h visa free transit

I am a professor and have been invited to Hefei to give a lecture,
and also have same invitations in Taipei and Hong Kong.
So I plan to fly from Taipei to Hefei and from Hefei to Hong Kong
Is this itinerary accepotable ? Please let ma know

Hefei is in Anhui Province and there's no twov so you need a visa to travel there.
