Huashan is famous for natural vista of steep and narrow paths, precipitous crags and a high mountain range. In winter, it snows sometimes on the mountain and the temperature usually drops to -4°C (24.8°F), while the peak is colder and the temperature normally reaches -10°C (14°F). Therefore, you need to be prepared if you would like climb Huashan in winter.
The most important parts are keeping warm and antiskid. You are suggested to wear outdoor jacket, down coat with hat scarf as well as gloves. And you must wear a pair of antiskid shoes. There are places to rent the overcoat on the mountain, but I suggest you buy other gears in advance. By the way, do remember to check the weather forecast before leaving and avoid to climb the mountain in the bad weather.
