About:Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

I want to try to climb Shanzidou. How far is Shanzidou from the cablecars. Do I have to pay any fee?

I will probably be coming with a partner from Nepal. Is it just to go or do I need permission? Is there any other thing I should know?

Shanzidou is the main peak of the mountain, and the fare for that is included in the entrance fee of JDSM. I am not clear how far it is from the cablecar, but the route to the peak is very steep and dangerous.

You can just go, but do let someone else or the attraction staff know that you are climbing that. Package very well, bring enough food and you may set off. I heard the whole journey may require 60-80 pitons.

Thank you. I will not be going alone though. I will probably be going with a Sherpa or two from Nepal. Maybe some other people as well. Most likely next year. :)
