About:Shanghai Pudong International Airport Maps

I’ll fly from US and have a long layover at Shanghai PVG T1.

Then onto a flight to Japan. Am I allowed to come through the customs and meet a friend who just happens to be there taking a flight out. After the meet, I then get through the security check and customs again boarding my next flight to Japan?

Hi, Min, the transfer procedures are different, which depend on the airlines. Would you mind provide your airlines? Maybe you can go out of the transfer area and don't need apply visa.

Thanks for the reply. The airline is China Eastern and I have a 10-year multiple entrance visa,I think I’m okay then.
