About:Beijing Transportation Smart Card

Getting a Beijing Transportation Card and Returning it

We arrive at PEK and was thinking we'd take a taxi into the city. I understand we can pick up the Transportation Card at PEK. Can we use a Visa Bank Card or American Express Card to get it there?

We'll be leaving from West Railroad Station, is there a place there or near by where we can return the card for our deposit and any balance we might have? Will they give us the cash back or will the money be returned to the credit card used?

The smart card can be got in the airport subway station where you are not able to pay with the visa credit. So you'd better prepare some cash in advance.

You can return the car at the Post Office to the east of the main building in the West Railway Station before 16:00. As long as the card is intact, you can return the balance and deposit on the card at that time. If the card is damaged, there is no way to return the deposit, and the balance in the card needs to wait for several days to be returned.
