About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

L and M visas

I have a long term L type, however have been contracted to China for business and will require an M. Can I have both visas at the same time?

Surly this is possible as US citizens can have 10 year entry permits. In this scenario, they could only enter as a tourist until there L expires. This is surly not practical.

Thanks

Hi, you cannot have both visas at the same time, because one can only hold one Chinese visa at a time. Once you get a M type, the L type will be voided automatically.
