About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

UK citizen on cruise ship from Tokyo to Singapore.

The cruise ship itinerary includes one day in Shanghai. The port before Shanghai is Kagoshima and the port after Shanghai is Okinawa. Is the 144 hour visa available for the day in Shanghai?

You need a visa because Japan-China-Japan is not a transit to a third country.
