About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

2 stops in China?

Hi, I am planning on flying from Malaga to Beijing, having 2 days in Beijing to meet up with my husband and then onto Australia, but the flight we're looking at from Beijing to Adelaide, where we are heading for, goes via Guangzhou, where we will not be leaving the airport as it isnt a long stopover. So outward journey will be AGP-PEK-CAN-ADL. Can I still use the 72hr transit visa in Beijing?
I have looked for alternatives in Australia, but they still stopover in Chinese cities before flying to Australia. I also looked at flying direct from Spain to Australia and meeting my husband there to avoid this, but the flights are twice as expensive and just aren't an option for us at the moment.

Many thanks

Angie

If you have two stops in China, your only option is 24 hours transit without visa. You must change your flights or get a visa.

Hi Rob.. Just to clarify.... So, I should have no more than 24hrs in each? or do you mean I CAN have the 72hr transit visa in Beijing, but wouldnt be able to leave the airport in Guangzhou (which we wouldnt anyway as it is such a short transfer). Thanks in advance!

No. You are limited to 24 hours in China, from scheduled arrival time at PEK to scheduled departure time from CAN.
