Canadian passport: flying to kualumpur via shanghai

Hi
I have Canadian passport. Flying from Dubai to Kualalumpur with 8+ hours layover in Shanghai. I want to go into Shanghai city and spend around 4 hours to look around. What type of visa I need and how to get it?
If you can suggest any 4-5 hours tour or direct me to any tour operator that would be great.
