About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

I am an Ethiopian and I was a student in china

My visa is expired before 3 days and I want to go back to my country,if I couldn't pay the penality can I back to my country or if I didn't pay the penalty what will happen to me

You need to pay the fine CNY500 per day; and the capped amount won’t exceed CNY10,000. Otherwise, you might be punished in another way, such as detention.

Detention will be concurrent with fines if it is applied.
