X1 visa extension requirements and procedure

I have two questions:

1. I have X1 issued, I am travelling to china in couple of days, can you please guide me what is the next procedure to get temporary residence permit and what are the requirements?

2. Henan University processed my documents for student visa, is there any possibility to apply to study from any other university?
