Residence visa for spouse

Hello. I’m a student in changsha and would like for my husband to come and stay with me. Since he travels a lot for work it would be easier for us if he had the the same residence visa as me. But the university says it can’t help us unless he become a student here. Help me what can i do?

If so, your husband can try to apply for a S1 type for mainland China. If it can succeed, he can enter China and apply for a residence permit then.

Thank you Ashcroft. But the issue is the police won’t give us the residence visa unless the university gives us the letter agreeing we can have the visa , and the school refuses to give that letter. And for the S visa, can the holder travel freely in and out of china?

The S type holder can travel freely in and out of china as long as the visa is valid.
