About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I an on cruise which calls in at Shanghai for two days, Shanghai for a day and Hong Kong for 2 days

Do I need a visa for the cruise or does the fact that I am in transit from one place to the other with seas days in between mean I do not?

They look at the port before and after shanghai. Both need to be different countries. Hong Kong counts as its not considered China for transit purposes
So [Country other than Hong Kong] > [Shanghai] > [Hong Kong]
