In fact, there are trains going back and maybe that's the best way. The train departs from 6:55 to 22:54. Have a nice trip!

I checked there is only the one to xipu not chengdu? or I am misunderstanding something.

Xipu Station is located in Pidu District, Chengdu, and you can take a taxi from there to the panda base. The fare is 70CNY or so.
