About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit visa 144hr

I have a british passport.

If I buy a return ticket from London to Shanghai and also a return ticket from Shanghai to Taiwan (i.e. travel from London to Shanghai and then to Taiwan and then come back the same way) Will I qualify for a 144hr free travel?

Are the documentation and processes required for this, to be done at a desk at Shanghai airport or do I need to do something beforehand in London?

London-Shanghai-Taiwan-Shanghai-London is your travel route, right? If yes, you can apply for the free transit policy in Shanghai twice after arrival. You just need to inform the airlines that you want to use the free transit before boarding the flight to Shanghai.
