About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

We are stopping at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport from Singapore and then to Shanghai.

All flights with China Southern airlines; thus do we need to claim our luggages and check in again or they will do it automatically? (For both to shanghai and back to Singapore)

Yes, you need to claim the baggage and recheck them.
Based on the information on the official website, the procedures are as follow:
Flight Arrival - Inspection & Quarantine - Frontier Inspection - Baggage Claim - Customs Inspection - Transfer Procedure - Security Check - Waiting & Boarding
