About:Hong Kong Trains - High Speed Rail

child rate on high speed train from HK-Beijing

Hi, I have read that children below 5 years (with an accompanying adult of course) are free on a sleeper train. Is this also applicable to the new high speed train that takes only 9hrs to Beijing? Thanks!

No, the high speed rides are different. For this 9 hours ride to Beijing, the child ticket is count by height instead. If the child is under 120cm, the child can board for free by sharing the seat with adult. But each adult can only take one child under 120cm for free. The child under 150cm can buy child ticket. The child will have hir or her own seat with a discount of 50% off. If the child is over 150cm, you need to buy adult ticket.
