About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Last stop on cruise is in Shanghai

We are from the United States and have US passports. We are on a Celebrity cruise with the last stop being Shanghai. Can we stay 3 nights in Shanghai using the 144 free transit? Do we get that prior to our cruise or when we arrive at immigration in Shanghai? Thank you

If you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Shanghai, you can apply for the 144h twov in Shanghai. You need to inform the cruise company that you want to use the free transit in Shanghai in advance, and then apply for that after arrival Shanghai.
