applying for visa- passport requirements

Question

My husband and I are travelling from Boston to Beijing on Nov. 4, 2018. We are travelling with a tour group from Beijing to Xian and then Shanghai. In Shanghai, we are then taking 2 cruises to Japan. Each cruise comes back to Shanghai. On Nov. 22, 2018 we fly back to USA from Shanghai. My passport expires on June 26, 2019. Do I need a new passport or will my current one be acceptable? Thank you. Hi, I think you can apply for a Chinese visa with the current passport. But if you want to apply for a 10 years visa for China, you should renew your passport beforehand.
