NZ to Shanghai via transit in Guangzhou and back to NZ from Shanghai via transit in Guangzhou

Hi, do I need a single entry visa? Also I have UK passport and NZ passport, does it make a difference which I use to apply for entry permit from NZ?

Yes, you need to apply for single entry visa for that trip. Your UK passport won't affect the application, I suppose.
