About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Traveling for a meeting in Shanghai

Hi.

I may be going from Sweden to Shanghai for less than 72 hours to attend business meetings, and then will be returning home.

Am I elligible to this? To me it feels like I am not actually transiting (by the definition), regardless of if my flight would be Stockholm-Shanghai-70 hours-Stockholm or Stockholm-Singapore-Shanghai-70hours-Munich-Stockholm, as the whole objective of the trip is business meetings.

Stockholm-Shanghai-70 hours-Stockholm doesn’t qualify. Stockholm-Singapore-Shanghai-70hours-Munich-Stockholm does qualify. Business meetings are fine.

Thank you very much, so to clarify, as long as the last stop before Shanghai (in my case) is different than the first stop after Shanghai (after the 70 hour stop), it's ok?

If so, that makes it so much easier, then.

Thank you very much.

Yes, it has to be Country A-One stop in China-Country B, and your passport must be from one of the 53 countries listed.
