About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Long connection of 17h

Hello,

I plan to travel with my family via China with a long connection of 17h in Shanghai.
I wish to leave the airport to visit some part of Shanghai and come back the same day to take my 2nd flight.
Is it possible for such a short time? What kind of visa should I need and what are services I can subscribe to ease my Shanghai visit?

Thank you

If you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Shanghai, you qualify for the 24h twov in there. But leaving the airport without a visa for a layover under 24 hours is at the immigration officer's discretion. Some reported that bringing a hotel reservation will help. You can have a try. Good luck. Or you can apply for tourist L type visa to guarantee your trip to Shanghai beforehand.
